If you want a well organized music collection, then you should make sure that your audio files are properly tagged. Tag information is used by all media players to sort audio files. If the tags are blank, your songs will appear as "unknown artist" in your playlist. Tagger provides a quick and easy way to make this information available. Thanks to its straightforward design and functionality, you won't spend more than a few minutes tagging your audio library.

You won't find more controls than you actually need on Tagger's clean and simple user interface. You can navigate through your local folders in the larger area of the window and edit a selected audio file's tags on the right side. The application allows you to insert general information, like title, artist, album, year, genre and so on, in separate input fields. It is also possible to specify a few sorting criteria and to attach a cover image to audio files, in the same area of the interface, but on separate tabs.

Tagger comes with an auto-tagging feature, which you will definitely appreciate. All you have to do is click a button to bring up a search query, in which you can specify the name of a song's album, artist or a comment. Based on your keywords, the application will search for corresponding tags on the Internet. It displays the results in a list, beneath the search field and it allows you to choose which tags to apply on your audio files.

Besides tagging your songs, the application supports other operations as well. It can rename your files, using tag information, like title, artist or album, but it can also tag the files, using information from their names. It is also possible to trim white spaces from a file's name, delete tags, renumber files and much more.

Pros

You can edit tags from your audio files. The application is capable of searching for tag information on the Internet. It can also rename files, auto-tag and more.

Cons

The fonts on the user interface are a bit small. With Tagger's help, a disorganized heap of audio files can be turned into a well organized music library, with only a few clicks.
